About H.I.S. Ministries
H.I.S. Ministries, located in West Galveston County, is a nonprofit dedicated to sharing God’s love by supporting individuals and families in need throughout the Hitchcock and Santa Fe communities. Founded in 1990 by nine local churches, the organization has grown into a powerful community resource rooted in compassion, dignity, and practical help.

What They Do
H.I.S. Ministries meets the holistic needs of their neighbors through a wide range of programs:

  • Food Pantry – Provides monthly groceries, senior food boxes, kids’ summer food packs, and home delivery for seniors.

  • Resale Shop – Operates a thrift store that serves as a self-sustaining funding source for the ministry.

  • Community Garden – Volunteers grow fresh produce that is donated directly back into the pantry to help nourish local families.

  • Back-to-School Support – Hosts an annual “Back to School Bash,” offering backpacks, shoes, school supplies, and more for children in the Hitchcock and Santa Fe school districts.

  • Transportation – Provides free rides (with advance notice) for residents in the Santa Fe and Hitchcock ISD areas to help with errands, appointments, and essential trips.

  • Financial Assistance – Offers support with rent and utility bills for families experiencing hardship.

  • Holiday Assistance – Distributes Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and provides Christmas toys for hundreds of children each year.

  • Home Repair Support – Through its volunteer Care Team, the ministry assists families with minor home repairs to help maintain safe and stable living conditions.

Vision & Impact
H.I.S. Ministries envisions a community where no one faces hardship alone. Their mission extends beyond providing resources — they aim to build a resilient, compassionate community grounded in faith, mutual support, and long-term stability.
