John Sloan

As a lifelong entrepreneur John Sloan has been an executive (and principal) in multiple businesses startups (and 2 fledgling churches). With over 25 years of experience in management, as an entrepreneur he has managed all functions within a company. President, Executive VP, CFO, VP Business Development are all functions he’s held for various organizations. Getting companies started or turned around are passions for him – whether he owns, coaches or consults.
John Sloan was raised in Dallas Texas and graduated from the University of Dallas with BA in Economics, subsequently earning his MBA from the Cox School of business at SMU. He relocated to Houston and the Energy Industry in 1990.
Experience
John’s career has focused primarily on the petrochemical downstream services industry. He managed sales departments and VP of sales for small and mid-sized services companies for 10 years (several of which were start ups). He founded the Fishbone Solutions Partnership in 1999, managing business operations, finance and sales. For 12 years Fishbone grew and spun off multiple companies In 2012 Fishbone was sold as part of a small public company start – up where Sloan stayed on to assist in set up of Finances (CFO) and Business Development for the new entities. John left TGE in 2015 to form Sloan Rangers, LLC. a strategic consulting and coaching company which has the mission of “helping people and companies grow”. As serves as Chair for Leaven Exchange (a Christian business executive peer group association) and The Leadership Exchange – a peer group association for directors of Non Profits. .
